High-performance epoxy-resin adhesive for tiling on all substrates.

  • Ideal for fixing tile, mosaic, glass mosaic, and resin mosaic in swimming pool.
  • Ideal for tiling onto the area where chemical and acidic resistant properties are required e.g. dairy, food industry, hospital, etc.
  • Can be used to fix tile, mosaic, glass mosaic, and resin mosaic onto most substrate including metal, plastic, and PVC.
  • Can be both adhesive and grout for fixing glass mosaic in kitchen, bathroom, swimming pool, spa, and sauna.

SUBSTRATE

  • Floor & Wall
  • Interior & Exterior
  • Industry/Hospital/Swimming pool/Cold Storage

Two components epoxy-based adhesive for:

  • Using on floors and walls where chemical resistant and waterproof properties are required.
  • The areas where disinfection is likely.
  • Tiling in swimming pools, ideal to be both adhesive and grout when fixing small mosaic.
  • Tiling onto specific substrates e.g. metal, plastic, polyester, etc.

SUBSTRATE AREAS

  • Chemical industry
    • Laboratory, production area, warehouse, paper-mill, tannery, painting plant, etc.
  • Food industry
    • Brewery, dairy, beverage industry, commercial cuisine, slaughter house, etc.
  • Hospital
    • Operating room, clinic, shower area, sanitary kitchen, etc.
  • Swimming pool
    • Pool and their edge, shower area, toilet, spa, sauna, steam room, etc.
  • Others
    • Battery room, public bathroom, waste-treatment plant, or for tiling on any specific substrate.

LIMITS OF USE

  • aCarefully check the chemical substances, which affect weber.color poxy, at the below table

COMPOSITION

  • Principal components: epoxy resins, catalysts, additives.

PERFORMANCE

  • Temperature resistance: -40°C to +100°C
  • Compressive strength: approx 65 N/ mm2 (MPa)
  • Bonding strength and flexural strength: 25 N/mm2 (MPa)
  • Shear strength: 14 N/mm2 (MPa)
  • Modulus of elasticity: 4,200 N/ mm2 (MPa)
  • Bonding strength on concrete:
    • More than 3 N/mm2 (MPa) in dry conditions
    • More than 3 N/mm2 (MPa) in wet conditions
  • pH: 10
  • Note: These test results are from the laboratory test.  They could be slightly different from the on-site results depending on the differences in applications and conditions.

APPLICATION PROPERTY

  • Pot life: 30 - 50 minutes at room temperature
  • Hardening time: 12 to 48 hours
  • Optimum hardening and chemical-resistant time: 4 days at 20°C and 8 days at 10°C
  • Recommended thickness: 3 to 5 mm
  • Time before traffic: 4 to 8 days

RECOMMENDATION FOR USE

  • Ambient temperature has an effect on the hardening rate of the product.
  • Instantly wipe off any excess of weber.color poxy with a warm-damp sponge before it sets.
  • It is recommended to grout the joints of tiles being fixed by weber.color poxy with weber.color poxy.
  • Clean the tools immediately after use.
  • Wear protective gloves.
  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

  • For new substrate: it should be flat, hard, level, dry, and clean with normal absorption.
  • For old substrate: scrape off any peel-off coatings or remove any de-bonding tiles and do the re-tiling.
  • Clean the surface until free from grease, dust, or any stains.
  • If the surface is very porous (high absorption), it should be wet until reaching its saturated point before tiling.
  • In case of new screed or render, the substrate should be fully cured for 7 days per 1 cm thickness of concrete before tiling.

TILES PREPARATION

  • Tiles should not be immersed in water because it will decrease bonding strength of the adhesive.
  • Ensure that tiles are clean, dry, free from grease, dust, or any other contaminations.

ADHESIVE PREPARATION

  • Mix the 2 components together by the ratio of 1:3 (upper part: lower part).  Stir mechanically until homogeneous paste is obtained.
  • After proper mix, leave the product for 3 to 4 minutes before using in order to have the complete chemical reaction.
    • The mixture of weber.color poxy should be used within 30 minutes and kept away from heat & sunlight.

APPLICATION

  • Apply some epoxy adhesive onto the substrate, and then use a notched trowel to equally spread the adhesive on the area of 1 m2
    • The depth of the notched trowel is to control the constancy and quantity of adhesive.
  • For floor: spread the adhesive on the substrate with the notched trowel.
  • For wall: better spread the adhesive horizontally with the notched trowel (as shown in the picture) on the substrate.
    • Using notched trowel will ensure a better transfer of adhesive onto both tiles back and substrates than using brick-laying trowel.
  • In case of tile size exceeding 25 x 25 cm (10" x 10"), it is recommended to have epoxy adhesive buttered onto the tile back in order to ensure the overall covering of the adhesive onto substrate and also to prevent voids underneath tiles, which could make tiles being fragile and allow water permeation.
  • Lay tiles on the epoxy adhesive and press firmly or knock gradually with rubber hammer.
    • The excess adhesive between tiles can perform grouting function, when the joint width should be at least 2 mm.
  • Carefully clean off any excess adhesive on the tiles with a warm-damp sponge when the adhesive is still wet.
  • Any adjustments can be done within 20 minutes before weber.color poxy sets.
  • Wait for 24 hours before grouting to let the adhesive dries.

RECOMMENDATION FOR TILING

  • Avoid applying the epoxy adhesive in lumps (as shown in the picture) at the tile back.  This will create voids underneath the tiles, which could lead to the fragility of tiles and water permeation.
  • Avoid using the epoxy adhesive on red-hot substrates or the substrates exposing to direct sunlight.

RECOMMENDATION FOR GROUTING

  • To maintain straight joints, spacers should be used (as shown in the picture).  The joint width is controlled by the width of spacer.
  • To avoid water leakage into underneath tiles and to avoid tile movement when there is foot traffic, the joint width is recommended to be at least 1.5 mm for wall and at least 3 mm for floor.
