Flexible tile grout for exterior wall and parking area

  • Able to absorb substrate deformation and temperature changes
  • Suitable for the areas when grout is expected to be flexible against substrate movement especially for external wall (it is recommended to use with weber.tai flex adhesive)
  • Suitable to use on the heavy-traffic areas e.g. industry and parking lot
  • Ideal to grout when tiling on surfaces that deflect e.g. wood and gypsum board
  • For joint width between 3 to 12 mm without crack

SUBSTRATE

  • Floor & Wall
  • Interior & Exterior
  • Balcony / Facade / High-rise building / Car park / Industry

LIMIT OF USE

  • Not suitable for joint width smaller than 3 mm (instead weber.color classic or weber.color power should be used).
  • Not suitable to use in humid areas where grout is required to be anti-fungus (instead weber.color power should be used).
  • Not suitable to use when the joint
  • Not suitable to use in swimming pool (instead weber.color HR or weber.color poxy should be used).
  • Not suitable if grout is required to
  • be chemical-resistant and acid-resistant; industry, hospital, food-storage area, for instance (instead weber.color poxy should be used).

COMPOSITION

  • Principal components: white cement, synthetic resin, selected aggregate, special additive.

PERFORMANCE

  • Density of dry mortar: 1.2
  • Modulus of elasticity: approx 10,000 N/mm(MPa)
  • Compressive strength: approx 23 N/mm2 (MPa)
  • Note: These test results are from laboratory test.  They might be slightly different from on-site results because of the differences in applications and conditions.

APPLICATION PROPERTY

  • Pot life: 30 mintes
  • Setting time: 12 hours
  • Time before traffic: at least 24 hours
  • Recommended joint-width: 3 to 12 mm
  • Application temperature: +5°C to +35°C

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

  • The joints should be clean and dry before grouting.
  • Clean and remove any particles or contaminations remaining in the joints in order to ensure a good grout adhesion and the color uniformity.

GROUT PREPARATION

  • Put clean water in a bucket (the water should be at room temperature, not warm or hot). 2. Gradually add weber.color flex in the water and mix at the same time until homogeneous lump-free paste is obtained.  The mixing proportion is;
    • 1:3           by weight (water : grout)
    • 1:2.5        by volume (water : grout)
  • After proper mix, leave the product for 3 - 4 minutes before using in order to have the complete chemical reaction.
  • The mixture of weber.color outside should be used within 30 minutes and kept away from heat & sunlight.

APPLICATION

  • For wall: Use weber rubber trowel or an appropriate tool to fill tile joints diagonally.
  • For floor: Apply the mixed grout onto the area of 1 m2, and then use the rubber trowel to diagonally fill the joints.
  • Wipe off the excess grouts with damp sponge before the grout sets.
  • Clean tile surfaces with clean cloth after 2 hours.
  • Wait for 24 hours before traffic to ensure the good bonding of grout.

RECOMMENDATION FOR GROUTING

  • Avoid using the grout when the areas are exposed to direct sunlight or when the surfaces are red-hot.
  • To protect water leakage into underneath tiles and to avoid tile movement when there is foot traffic, the joint width should be at least 3 mm for both wall and floor applications.
  • In case of clay tiles or porous tiles, weber.klin tec should be used before grouting to protect the tile surfaces from grout-color stains.
