Product Features

Key Benefits

  • Resist to positive and negative water pressure up to 50 meterss depth
  • Particularly suit to waterproof swimming pools before tiling
  • Non-toxic
  • Easy to apply by brush or trowel

Technical Data

  • Density of powder : 1.35 g/cm3
  • Bond to concrete : 1.48 N/mm2
    • Remark: These test results are from laboratory test. They could be slightly different from on-site results because of the differences in applications and conditions

Limit of Use

  • Not suitable to use on brickwork, lightweight concretes, porous surfaces.
  • Not suitable to use on the substrates being subject to movement, or cracked
  • Not suitable to use on floors where heavy traffic is likely
  • Not suitable to use in acidic conditions (pH<6)
  • Not suitable to use in the areas where structural movement is likely since the product is not flexible

Certified Standard

Substrate preparation

  • New substrate: the substrate should be fully cured for 7 days per 1 cm thickness of concrete before applying waterproofing mortar.
  • Old substrate: repair the substrate and clean the surface until free from dust, grease, or any other stains.
  • Thoroughly dampen the areas.  Wait until water absorbs into the surfaces (not too wet) before applying weber.dry tec.

  • [Gradually add weber.dry tex in a bucket with water, by the volume ratio of 3 part weber.dry tex per 1 part of water, and mix at the same time by using slow speed (500 rpm) electric mixer.  When using traditional trowel, mix properly until homogeneous lump-free paste is obtained.
  • After proper mix, leave the product for 3 - 4 minutes before using in order to have the complete chemical reaction.

  • Leave the area for at least 24 hours before tiling over or other covering applications.
  • In case of swimming pool, the area should be left for 4 - 7 days before tiling over.
  • Smooth rendering of the second coat could be applied for paint covering.
  • weber.dry tex can be applied by 2 methods
    • by brush or
    • by U9 trowel

    • Apply the 1st coat of weber.dry tec onto the substrates at the consumption of 2 kg/ m2, spread out evenly and ensuring full overlap between brush applications.
    • Allow the areas to dry for approximately 6 to 12 hours before applying the 2nd coat.
    • Re-dampen the first-coated surfaces and apply the second coat perpendicularly to the first one .
      • Thickness of the two layers should be 2 - 3 mm maximum.
        • Remark: if the recommended thickness is not obtained, render first the mortar and then use the brush to ensure suitable roughness and bubble-free surface.

APPLICATION by U9 trowel

  • Apply the coat of weber.dry tec onto the substrates, spread out evenly for covering the roughness and bubble-free area.
  • Allow the areas to dry by touching the mortar render. In case of no any mortar residue sticking with the finger, it implies that we are able to apply the 2nd coat.
  • Apply the second coat and smooth the surface.

Application Property

  • Mixing time: 3 minutes
  • Pot life: 60 minutes
  • Time before the second coat: 6-12 hours after applying the first layer   Setting time before tiling or other coatings: 24 hours
  • In case of swimming pool, setting time before tiling or other coatings: 4-7 days
  • Recommended thickness: at least 2 mm and total thickness not more than 5 mm

Recommendation for Use

  • If there is water permeation, drain off the water by making a drainage hole at the structural base. Use water-plug mortar to plug the hole, and then apply with weber.dry tex
  • Application temperature: +5°C to +45°C
  • Not to be used on very cold substrates
  • Avoid using waterproofing mortar when there is direct sunlight
