Substrate preparation

  • All substrates should be sound and free of all contamination including laitance, paints, coatings, oil, grease and dust.
  • Make good any unsound areas, fill up and render any pores and joints.
  • New screed or render should be fully cured for 7 days per 1 cm thickness of concrete before applying waterproofing mortar.
  • Thoroughly dampen the whole area with clean water.  Wait until water absorbs into the surfaces before applying weber.dry top.

  • Put liquid part of weber.dry top in a bucket.
  • Gradually add powder part by the weight ratio of 1 part of liquid per 3.5 parts of powder (or 1:2.25 by volume) in the liquid and mix at the same time by using slow speed; 500 rpm; electric mixer.
    • When using traditional trowel, mix properly until homogeneous lump-free paste is obtained.
  • After proper mix, leave the product for 3 – 4 minutes before use in order to have the complete chemical reaction.
    • The mixture of weber.dry top should be used within 60 minutes and kept away from heat and sunlight.

  •  There are 2 possibilities to apply weber.dry top as per the following;
    • 1) Using rendering trowel: Apply 1st layer of weber.dry top to smooth off the surface. Apply 2nd coat vertically on top while 1st layer is still fresh.
    • 2) Using U9 notched trowel: Apply a scratch layer of weber.dry top to cover pinholes in the substrate. Use U9 notched trowel to equally spread weber.dry top fresh-in-fresh on the substrate. And then use the trowel to smooth the notches of product.
  • Leave the area for at least 24 hours before tiling over or other covering applications.
  • Leave the area for 4 - 7 days in case of tiling in swimming pool.
  • weber.dry top could be left bare in case of reservoir and water tank. Leave the area for at least 3 days before flushing and filling in with water.
  • Use weber.tape BE 14 to reinforce and waterproof along angels and joints. Use weber.tape fibermesh 5 to repair small cracks. Use weber.tape fibermesh 100 to reinforce floor area.

Application property

  • After mixing, leave the product: 3-4 minutes before use
  • Pot life: 1 hour

Recommendation for Use

  • Application temperature: 5oC to 45oC
  • Not to be used on very cold substrates.
  • Avoid applying in direct sunlight or on very hot substrates.
  • Do not re-dampen and make sure of no water on the surface before the 2nd coat.
  • Clean the tools immediately after use.
  • For water tank, it should be flushed with clean water before use.

  • 4.5 kg small plastic bucket containing 3.5 kg powder and 1-liter of liquid gallon (Approximately 2.25 m2 / 4.5 kg bucket)
  • 23 kg big plastic bucket containing 18 kg powder and 5-liter of liquid gallon (Approximately11.5 m2 / 23 kg bucket)
